What's new in Google Docs & Spreadsheets?

    You can see, create, and share all of your web-based documents and spreadsheets in one place. As your collection grows, you can manage and find them using tags, stars, and searches. Learn more

  • A new interface for Google Docs & Spreadsheets
    The document and spreadsheet editors now share the same UI, as features of one product. Not every little detail is the same, since they do different things, but they certainly have a similar feel.

  • A consistent way to share
    A consistent way to share Sharing a document or spreadsheets works the same way now. We've even added an option to spreadsheets so you can let collaborators invite others to your spreadsheets. (This is the default way that that sharing works for documents.) Learn more

  • Multiple lines in the same cell
    Use alt+enter (ctrl+enter on Macs) to add a new line in the same cell. Now cells that need multiple lines (such as addresses) are a breeze. Learn more

  • Gmail contacts
    Gmail contacts When inviting people to collaborate, you have easy access to your contacts' email addresses from Gmail, Calendar, and other Google applications. Learn more

  • Let anyone view
    Let anyone view Have some data you want to shout from the rooftops? Check "Let anyone view" in the sharing pane. You can share or publish this URL to let others view your spreadsheet without specifically inviting them. Learn more

  • Take your data anywhere
    Print easily via the "Print" option in the File menu. We've also added support for two popular formats, Portable Document Format (.pdf) and Open Document Format (.ods). Learn more

  • Cell borders
    You can now create borders around a single cell, or group of cells. Pretty! Learn more

  • Hyperlinks improved
    Now, when you select a cell containing a valid URL, you can click on the link icon next to it to access that website. We've also improved the hyperlink formula. Learn more

  • More choices when inserting columns and rows
    Now, when you right-click on a row or column header, you have more choices on how many you want to insert at a time, and where you want them to go. Learn more

  • Move sheets
    If you're working with multiple sheets in one file, this feature can help you keep them in order. Learn more

  • Right-click menu
    Our right-click menu is now bigger and better. For example, right-clicking on columns will bring up the "Sort" option, and right-clicking on a row or a column will allow you to insert or delete.
